Before opening the gate yourself, turn and head down to the end of the ruined bridge, being careful to watch for the two other Bone Hounds feasting on a corpse on the other side of a ruined caravan. Try to lure them one by one if their erratic movement is too much. As you begin to move down the stairs, take note of the gate: It will open briefly to release three Bone Hounds that pounce upon the Hollows and maul them all, before turning to you.
